Tactile Art Club - Paper Mache Pumpkin
/We had another successful Tactile Art Club meeting on September 15th! Gearing up for autumn, the club had a great time sharing holiday spirit, bonding, and creating paper mache pieces. We started the meeting by going over tips and tricks for creating dynamic works. These concepts were taught by demonstrating making a pumpkin out of a plastic bag mold and paper mache techniques. Subsequently, the meeting became quite open ended, and each person got the opportunity to uniquely express their creativity by creating their own work!
This provided a great space for collaborative idea generation, self expression, and community bonding. Each meeting transcends boundaries of what art can be, and expands the focus of the club to therapeutic experiences and a broadening of perspectives. The club continues to spread creativity and positivity through accessible art online. We are excited to continue forming a global community and connecting through tactile art.
Instructions for making the paper mache paste:
Combine 1 part flour and 2 parts water in a large bowl and stir it well until lumps are gone and the mixture is thin with a consistency similar to pancake batter.
The paper mache paste can be used immediately or stored in a covered bowl in the refrigerator for a few days.
