Tactile Art Club - Self Portrait with Clay!
The Tactile Art Club meeting on Feb 18th was a huge success. We had a great turnout (19 people) in spite of the weather. After introductions, getting to know each other and talking about tactile art, we delved into our first project of using clay to create self portrait or anything else that we wanted to create. We all had a good time and I was really amazed by the creativity. We put all our creations into a kiln at the end of the meeting to be baked for 36 hours. We will glaze our creations during our next meeting in March along with a new project for new students.
I have received lot of interest for the Tactile Art Club from students families and teachers of visual impairment. Few students who were going to come from Colorado Springs had to cancel as their school district was closed on Tuesday because of the snow. It would have been tough for their TVI’s to drive from Colorado Springs to Littleton in the snow.
We are expecting an even bigger turnout for the March meeting.
